Successful Joint Meeting of PRIMA Projects: Safe-H2O-Farm, NPP-SOL and TELENITRO

On 10–11 June 2025, a successful joint meeting of the PRIMA projects Safe-H2O-Farm, NPP-SOL and TELENITRO was held at the Department of Agricultural, Food and Environmental Sciences, University of Perugia, hosted by Prof. Michela Farneselli (Safe-H2O-Farm Coordinator).

Throughout the two-day programme, participants presented key research results and exchanged knowledge on effective strategies to prevent and reduce water pollution and salinization caused by agri-food practices. Special attention was given to innovative approaches to sustainable water management in agriculture.

Our research team was represented by PhD Elda Vitanović and PhD Maja Jukić Špika, who actively contributed to discussions on the implementation of sustainable practices in the field.

The second day included a Safe-H2O-Farm field trip with site visits to:

-an open-field tomato research station in Papiano

-an olive farm in the Spello area

This joint meeting strengthened collaboration between the projects, fostered experience-sharing, and offered valuable field insights—further contributing to the overarching goals of the PRIMA initiative.

Project of bilateral cooperation with the Biotechnical Faculty, University of Ljubljana, accepted

As part of the Competition for the co-financing of Croatian-Slovenian scientific research projects for the period 2023-2025, the project “Grapevine, viruses and mycorrhizal fungi – analysis of the complex interplay” was accepted. The leaders are collaborators on the Myco Grape project: Ph.D. Katarina Hancevic from the Croatian side and assistant. Ph.D. Matevž Likar from the Slovenian side. The main goal is to continue and improve the cooperation between the two teams through mutual visits and training, during which they will jointly work on the application of various statistical methods in a detailed analysis of the relationship between the grapevine, pathogenic and beneficial microorganisms.
